The Supreme Court has for the first time imposed a prison sentence for violating the Working Environment Act's provisions on working hours.

Finansavisen Jus has today published the result of the Lawyer Survey 2020 (Advokatundersøkelsen 2020). It is gratifying to be able to tell that Homble Olsby | Littler is ranked among the top three law firms in employment law in Norway. Homble Olsby | Littler is awarded third place, with Arntzen de Besche second and Wiersholm in first place.

From 1 January 2020, several amendments concerning the whistle-blower provisions in the Working Environment Act entered into force. At the same time, the employer’s duty to act under the Equality and Anti-Discrimination Act was strengthened.

On October 18th, 2019, the Ministry of Justice proposed a new act on the protection of trade secrets in Prop 5 LS (2019-2020). The proposal implements the EU directive 2016/943 and strengthens the protection of trade secrets.

On Wednesday 16 October 2019, Merete Furesund and Henrik Otterlei Rasmussen from Homble Olsby held a course organized by Advokatenes HR. The theme was international working conditions in the EU/EEA, including secondment, social security coordination, choice of law and legal venue.

Together with Littler, Homble Olsby arrange Littler's inaugural labor conference for Europe in London November 14th 2019 with speakers from Accenture, Uber, Oracle and several other multinational companies. The focus is changes in the workplace in multinational companies.

On June 21st 2019, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs proposed changes in the limits for mandatory hearing in the conciliation board, the small claims procedure and appeal to the court of appeal in matters concerning asset claims.

In order to handle increased and more varied assignments, we now seek 1-2 lawyers/associates.

On the June 6th 2019, the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs sent out a public hearing regarding amendments in the provisions concerning the hiring agency workers.
