Now is the time to stand up for each other!

Sometimes you have to stand upright even if you want to lie down and cry. Today we in  the Littler family woke up together with the whole of Norway to the news of mass shooting in Oslo with two people killed and 21 people injured. The incident is being investigated as an act of terrorism. The police work on the basis of hypotheses that it may be a case of hate crime and / or psychiatry.

There is reason to believe that the people were shot and killed or injured just because they show their love in a slightly different way than the majority. The incident is shocking, sad and something we strongly dissociate ourselves from. It should be safe to be who you are and love the person you want to love. Our deepest sympathy goes to everyone who may be directly or indirectly affected by this mass shooting and everything it brings with it.

Today, the Pride parade, the folk festival that many had been looking forward to and that many would also join today, has been canceled. One mother explained the cancellation of the Pride parade to her children as follows: ‘We are not going to join the Pride parade today. It has been canceled because it is actually possible for someone to hate us so strongly that they want to kill us because we have the sexual orientation we have".

King Harald has previously described Norway as a country consisting of girls who like girls, boys who like boys and boys and girls who like each other. That's the way it should be, isn't it? This is Norway we know and which we love, are proud of and want to live in. All people mean something in the society we want and fight for. This is the ethical principles we in the Littler family stand for. Let the Pride flags wave in the wind!
