Joakim Augeli Karlsen
Joakim Augeli Karlsen joined Littler Law Firm as a partner on 2 April 2024.
Augeli Karlsen has strong expertise and extensive legal experience in employment law. He covers the entire spectrum of employment law and has worked with all types of employment law cases.
He has broad experience of litigation in the district courts and courts of appeal and has an approved test case for the Supreme Court. He has litigated cases for several large, listed companies, including Equinor, Norwegian and SAS.
Augeli Karlsen has international experience as one of several spokespersons for the International Organisation of Employers at the ILO Labour Conference; Committee on the Application of Standards 2023. He has also been part of Business Europe's negotiating delegation for negotiations on the Teleworking and Right to Disconnect Directive. In addition, he has drafted several consultation responses for the implementation of EEA law in the Working Environment Act.
He has extensive lecture- and course experience and has been a speaker at the Annual Employment Law Course in 2020, 2023 and 2024. He has also had several introductory presentations in the Norwegian Employment Law Association's meeting series and at the Employment Law Group at University in Oslo. Augeli Karlsen also has experience as an examiner and supervisor in Master's theses in Employment Law, collectively and individually, at University in Oslo.
Augeli Karlsen is the "go-to person" in cases and legal matters that require that little extra. He has worked extensively with restructuring and downsizing and individual cases with a collective approach, and is recognised and appreciated for his determination, efficiency, and good solutions in demanding cases - also in cases involving unions and employee representatives.
